The distinctive "shelter cell" design of a $825,000 modified Mercedes G-Class entirely substitutes a self-contained armoured capsule for the original body. The changes include in overlapping door protection, hot-formed steel armour plates, and multi-layer bullet-resistant glass. Incorporating tactical elements like a roof-mounted LED light bar, military-spec run-flat tires and an advanced thermal imaging system, the vehicle preserves off-road capability.
