10. Yeah, We Should Be Covering Our Eyes Too
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so when the beholder starts closing their eyes, you can assume whatever’s in front of them isn’t very beautiful. We’re not sure what kind of ugly demon possessed this woman to wear this dress, but it’s clear she’s fighting back the only way she knows how—by refusing to look at it. Just kidding. While this dress isn’t the worst on this list, we wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it in public. We’d probably close our eyes too. The design seems caught between trying to be avant-garde and accidentally falling into the realm of visual chaos. The cut, fabric choice, and overall silhouette seem to be working against each other rather than in harmony. It’s the perfect example of how sometimes, in fashion design, less really is more. While experimentation is essential for pushing fashion forward, the choices made need to have some underlying logic or aesthetic purpose. Here, it feels like the designer threw caution to the wind and created something even the wearer can’t bear to look at. It’s a reminder that not all fashion risks pay off, and sometimes the best solution is to close your eyes and pretend it never happened. At least it makes for an interesting conversation starter, even if most of the conversation revolves around people trying to figure out what exactly they’re looking at.
