3. Smart Material Integration

Using smart materials in drone building has created fresh avenues for noise control. Shape-memory alloys and piezoelectric components among other sophisticated materials actively react to vibration and sound waves. Different flight conditions cause the materials to change their physical characteristics, therefore reducing unwanted noise at its source. While specialised polymers absorb vibrations that might otherwise help to create noise, composite materials with different density layers trap and dissipate sound waves. By up to 40%, nano-engineered materials produced by researchers can lower structural-borne noise, therefore greatly enhancing the general acoustic performance of drones.
