Australian Shepherd

Australian Shepherds are intelligent, energetic, and highly trainable, but their herding instincts can pose challenges for families with young children. Bred as working dogs, they have a natural tendency to nip or chase, behaviors that can be problematic around small kids. Australian Shepherds require plenty of physical and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy, which can be demanding for busy families. While they are loyal and affectionate, their high energy levels and herding tendencies make them better suited for households with older children or active adults.
