11. Desert Conservation Project

Take part in practical desert conservation initiatives to help to protect this special habitat for next generations. Collaborating with conservation specialists, participants conduct a variety of research and monitoring projects including habitat restoration initiatives, vegetation surveys, and wildlife tracking. Along with keeping water spots for desert life and helping with anti-poaching campaigns, the experience includes gathering data for continuing studies. From climate change to human impact, participants discover the difficulties confronting desert ecosystems and the creative ideas under development to help with these problems. The initiative also addresses the value of environmentally friendly travel and how guests could reduce their effect on the desert. Direct participation in conservation activities helps people to better appreciate desert ecology and the vital need of safeguarding these special environments for the next generations.
