According to ancient books, during the Byzantine era a mystery prophet lived in a cave close to the hot springs.He was supposed to be able to interpret the signals of the seas and forecast which spring would be best for every guest's particular condition.The prophet kept thorough notes on the therapeutic qualities of the springs, which mediaeval academics eventually found and translated from.These books apparently included decades ahead of their time superior information on hydrotherapy and mineral treatments.Though their complete contents are still under active study and discussion, archeological digs have found several scrolls and tablets close to the cave systems.
